Last resort for undelivered or held items
If tracking shows "Held at Post Office" or "Addressee Absent" and online attempts have failed, visit the delivery post office in person. Bring valid photo ID and your tracking number.

Common Tracking Problems
Tracking number not found
Wait 24–48 hours after booking. India Post only activates tracking once the parcel is processed at the origin post office. If it still shows nothing after 48 hours, check for O/0, I/1, or B/8 character confusion.
Status stuck for 3+ days
A gap of 24–72 hours between scans is normal during transit, especially between states. If stuck for more than 5 days, contact the booking post office or call the helpline.
Tracking shows "Out for Delivery" but parcel not received
The postman may have attempted delivery while you were away. Check if a delivery notice was left. Visit or call your local post office — the parcel is held for 7–14 days before return.
Wrong tracking status after delivery
India Post scan records can occasionally be delayed. If you've received the item but tracking still shows "Out for Delivery", the delivered status will typically update within 24 hours.
